Fellow adventurers, dungeon delvers, and fans of In Two the Dungeon (I2TD), gather 'round the fire! Today is not just any ordinary day—no, this is a day of legends, a milestone etched in the annals of podcasting history and the Kiyoh Mahs Bra’dah. It’s time to roll for celebration, because we’ve just hit our 100th episode! Can you believe it? 100 episodes of crit fails, unexpected plot twists, and enough puns to make even the most stoic dwarf groan in despair.
Our story began not in a grand hall or a mystical forest, but in Nich’s laundry room, where the echoes of clanging dice reverberated off the washing and drying machines as we slowly turned this into our makeshift studio. Back then, we were just a couple of nervous podcasting rookies, armed with nothing more than a couple of microphones, copious amounts of dice, and a big dream.
Our first campaign was the Dragon of Icespire Peak, where over 83 episodes we demonstrated that you don’t need a full party to embark on an epic quest; just one determined DM and one brave player can bring a world of fantasy to life with memorable characters, sidekicks, adversaries and epic quests.
From there, we ventured into Joe Dever's Lone Wolf series, demonstrating that even a solo adventure can become a shared experience. 15 episodes into this mini series and as we prepare for Al’s campaign, we have been able to show that when life keeps the full party away from the table, there’s always a way to scratch that roleplaying itch and keep the adventure alive with just two people.
So don’t let the challenges of gathering your party together prevent you from embarking on a fulfilling and engaging adventure.Grab your partner, sibling, child or friend and embark on an exciting full size adventure today! Make sure to check our blog posts on balancing combat for just one player, or how to incorporate sidekicks into the mix to keep the roleplaying engaging and help shape the stories you will tell together.
So, what’s next for I2TD? Well, if we’ve learned anything from our two campaigns so far, it’s that the future is as unpredictable as our dice rolls. But you can bet your +3 longbow that we’re not slowing down anytime soon. The stories and adventures will continue, with more epic battles, more morally questionable decisions, and a whole lot more laughter.
Al is hard at work preparing for his maiden campaign on the podcast as the DM. In this adventure we will be returning to D&D; watch this space for further information in the near future as we are now quickly coming to the end of our Lone Wolf Kai Series.
To our incredible listeners and the wonderful friends that we have made along the way and who keep our Discord community alive with laughter and friendship: thank you. Thank you for tuning in week after week, for your engagement, your support, and your unwavering enthusiasm. You’re the true heroes of this podcast!. Here’s to another 100 episodes of adventure, camaraderie, and, let’s be honest, some of the weirdest moments in podcasting history. We couldn't have done it without you.
So raise your tankards, sharpen your swords, and let’s keep devling in two the dungeon!
Here’s to the next 100 episodes!
Nich & Al
